About Bishop Collins

Bishop D. R. Collins, M.Div.

Bishop Dianne R. Collins accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at the age of thirteen at Prince of Peace Baptist Church in Memphis, Tennessee. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theatre and Communication Arts from the University of Memphis. She received her Master of Divinity Degree from The Interdenominational Theological Center of Atlanta. She answered the call to preach in 1979 and received ministerial licensing under the late Bishop Gilbert Earl Patterson of Bountiful Blessings Church of God in Christ. She relocated to the Atlanta area and received the pastoral call on December 31, 1986. She united with the Cathedral of Faith Church of God in Christ and was ordained on December 24, 1991 under the leadership of her Pastor, Bishop Jonathan Greer, II, of Atlanta. She was also consecrated to the office of Bishop by Bishop Greer in September of 2006.

She is married to Lawrence L. Collins. They have two children, Vicki Lynn Hutchins and April Dionne Collins, and two grandchildren, Dezjah Monique and Cedric Demond Hutchins, Jr.

Bishop Collins has attributed whatever success she has achieved in ministry to God, His loving favor, much intercession, wisdom from above, the support of a loving family and faith walking friends. Her ministry motto is: "Keep first things first," based on St. Matthew 6:33.

She is the author of two books: Preacher Tidbits: What Every Minister of the Gospel Should Know and a devotional: Pebbles in the Sand. She has recorded a 3-Song CD entitled: "Songs of Deliverance," and written a stage play entitled: "Quench My Thirst!"
